Vivaldi was appointed master of the violin at the Ospedale della Piet, an orphanage for girls, in 1703 and continued to dedicate music to the role, and subsequent music roles he held at the institution. It's also notable for the borrowing of the "Cum Sancto Spiritu" chorus in the setting composed by Vivaldi's fellow Venetian - Giovanni Maria Ruggieri in 1708.This new vocal score is a digitally enhanced reprint of the one originally prepared by the American musicologist Clayton Westermann in 1967 and includes Westermann's English translation of the original Latin text. Sticking with choral music, Vivaldi’s 1715 Gloria (RV 589), composed for the choir and orchestra of the Ospedale della Piet, is a real treat. The most famous of three settings of the Gloria text by Vivaldi, this one (RV 589) most likely dates from about the same time as its predecessor, during the composer's tenure at the Ospedale della Pietà convent in Venice (1713-40). 3/ RV 589 (Full Score), 0.1.0.0: 0.1.0.0: Str (2-2-2-1-1 in set): Org(Hpchd): Soli SA: SATB Chor, Y元6-A273201Full Score : Kalmus Choral Library - : Kalmus Choral Library.
